Gah - I'm so silly - yesterday my neighbour came over to show me a piggy he is tzrying to 'give' to me - for a price of course...needless to say i dont want to buy it but enjoyed the visit and held the piggy up to my 2 boyys to say hi too - all was great...after 20 mins my neighbour left and my boys went about their busniess...THEN they started sniping and grouching at each other and fighting a bit! :( THEN....they were in seperate corners and acting 'odd'...this morning they are TOO quiet. They ate my veg happily but quietly.....no interaction betwen them and no talking - elvis staye in the blanket all day and even allowed me to pick him up - normally he runs. He seems peeved. I think they had a fight and I'm to blame.

Also besides this they are in excellent health but having them only 5 days now i have realy noticed they drink almost nothing!? I'm feeding them cucumber ( about 2" ) - a piece of carrot ( 3") and 1/4 red bell pepper..few lettuce leaves for crunch and their usual feed and 3 water bottles and a water bowl now! Are they gettiong enough water form the veg? i dont think they are having enough...
help!

yes they get enough water from their veg. At the moment 2 of my girls, Icey and Tiny are not drinking, and I'm not highly bothered at the moment. The bottle remains where it is and sometimes they do have a little sip:)

About the boys going 'moody', it could have something to do with the scent of another piggy - but once boys argue and fall out, it's hard to get them back to 'normal' again :(

I know - i know - I'm soo cross with myself - there is DEF a frosty air - I'm cross with myself - even hubby warned me to stay away with the visitor :( silly me >:( - well i put them out on the floor today and added a few 'scary' things - a BIG dangerous looking log and a strange box ;) - it worked a bit - they huddled together and its bonded them a BIT -- if i do that again this evening they may be back to mates again - poor things - naughty mummy :(

Oh I'm relieved about the water - i was very concerned...thankyou!

It's not your fault - not like you knew they were going to behave this way :)

Just keep trying new things - new smells too :)

you may want to try giving them a bath, cleaning out their whole area while you did it and reintroducing, it may then remove any leftover scent.

You could always dab some lavender oil on the side of their cages or pop some Vicks on the end of each of their noses so they both smell the same.

Also you could pop them in their carry case and take them on a car journey - it works for children and piggies!

Good luck!

Was it a boy or a girl? Guinea pig boys don't normally fight after seeing another boy, so I'm think that it might have been a girl and they were fighting over her. Hopefully it will all get better, best wishes!

Try having them out together on your lap this evening. I found it really helped in the early weeks when I was bonding our two. :)

EDIT: get your hubby to clean the hutch out while you bath them ;D

Hehehehe, that's what I normally do, while I'm fishing poo and fur out of the bath plug hole!
