COVID-19 What have you managed to get during this Lockdown that you’ve been most excited about?

Too sweet and marshmallow - textured for me. Maybe how it passed me by, but seriously I don't remember them at all.

I don’t remember them from my youth. In fact I think my own kids introduced me to them. I think I’d rather have a bag of traditional pink and white marshmallows than Flumps , but hey, a sweet is a sweet!

I managed to order some Filipino sauces/seasonings, Filipino crisps, noodles and other Filipino cooking mixes from an online Asian shop. Cost me around £60 (including delivery) mind you. I always buy such stuff from an Asian shop in Liverpool but because of the lockdown, no choice but to pay for a hefty cost of delivery. Anyway, at least I got it sorted coz my stock is almost running out. Good thing I managed to buy a 22kg sack of rice before we went on holiday last February.

And like everyone said, flour, especially strong flour are non existent from shops! We managed to buy plain flour last month but can't get any strong flour, which hubby wanted to make the bread. Hubby managed to buy a box of yeast from Amazon last week though.

A bag of rice! We were forced to stock up because of people’s panic buying. But when I wanted to buy a bag of rice there was none for weeks...until last weekend! I was sooo excited 🤣🤣 and my husband also bought a bag so we’re stocked. We eat it at least 3 times a week.

I was really excited a couple of weeks ago (I think) to find a solitary bag of bread flour in a little local Sainsbury’s.

Flour cannot be found anywhere now.

I had a look on Amazon last night - Allinson’s strong white bread flour was going for £23.75 per 1.5 kg bag!
I am not that desperate
I’ve been looking for flour for weeks and come up with nothing! My husband managed to get some whole meal spelt flour last weekend when he was shopping for his dad so I will give that a try. Anything is better than none I suppose, but I refuse to pay stupid money for it!

I just managed to buy a bottle of antibacterial hand gel online! :yahoo: We usually have a travel size bottle or 2 of it in the car, even before all this virus happened and I can't find any even while we were in America last Feb. Now I got one, but I can only get the 300ml bottle. Easy enough to refill the travel size bottles we have. 👍

I struggled to buy 2 bottles of 50ml hand sanitiser, then I managed to get another 2 online. Then my company provided me with a 250ml bottle for when I'm on patrol and the ambulance service provided me with a 500ml for first responder call outs. So now I've got that much I could swim in it!

A pack of hay fever tablets from the pharmacy after the supermarket was emptied for a couple of weeks at the start of lockdown.
Just in time before the sneezing and coughing got too bad for me to go shopping without being a health risk...

I paid £2.49 for 60ml bottle in co op last week! :doh:Can get it at the Lidl down the road for 49p normally but sold out when I last went in! At least I’ve got some for my rare trips out now though! I’m terrible with touching my face (got a scarred lip from biting through it during a fit years ago so always picking at it:doh:) so at least a bit of protection from the germs!

I bought mine from Lloyds Pharmacy online. It was the only hand gel available (not sure how many bottles they have still). So I bought the 300ml for £3.99 but delivery is £3.95. I was looking for other items I can get but mostly out of stock. Oh well. At least the shop is legit and not some rogue sellers. We can't get any hand gel from shops in our area and always out of stock in our weekly online shopping. 🤷‍♀️ I went to Morrisons in town yesterday, all shelves are full apart from the flour and baking shelves, and the hand gel and hand wash shelves. 👎

I have had to order ours online. Both me and MrA take a daily anti histamine so we’ve needed a decent supply of them. Fortunately an online pharmacy will sell you several months’ supply.

Same here; unfortunately online was also out of them... but the local pharmacy still had a supply when I rang them up.
I need them daily as well with all the piggy hay!

I’ll be interested to hear how your Morrison’s Box delivery goes - I’m so suspicious!

My replacement box failed to turn up this morning too. Currently waiting for Morrison's to decide if they'll refund me or not. Definitely don't bother with them, it's too much of a pain in the arse.

We’ve been looking for SR flour for weeks! We have got bread flour from a local bakers and he was happy to supply it

If people are struggling for antihistamines, would it be worth asking a pharmacy if they have any Phenergan? It's not sold as an antihistamine but promethazine is the main ingredient and it is definitely one. It's sold over the counter as a travel sickness aid, but only in pharmacies. It's just a thought.

Today I got hair dye delivered from Amazon!
Its my only vanity item, I never use any makeup or much in the way of beauty products, but I do sometimes dye my hair just 1 shade brighter (a bit more golden) than my natural hair colour to brighten myself up and hide the grey bits :) asda ran out of my shade a couple of weeks before lockdown and I wouldnt expect piggy daddy to understand what "shade 8G" means and find it while he's lockdown shopping for all the extended family... but Amazon had it in stock, so I can be a honey coloured floof rather than ageing and mousy at the roots if I'm feeling like it :)
I got a new toothbrush too, all this feels like such decadent luxury in the current circumstances!

Is phenergan not a prescription only drug? It can make you pretty drowsy far as I remember - I used to take it occasionally for dysmenorrhea.

Nope. I don't know about the larger dosages, but the 10mg tablets are available OTC at a pharmacy, I've bought them that way before.

Ooh interesting! Maybe it’s the other one I’m thinking of...there were two..it’s all a blur.

incidentally I once took a whole tablet (used to take half) and boy did I suffer! I don’t know how I made it home from work that day 😴
