I origionally had just the meddow hay but today brought them some Timothy hay by alfalfa king which they are tucking into but it was quite expensive! spoilt pigs rolleyes

I feed mine Timothy and Rye hay. I buy a huge bag from hay for pets for fifteen pounds. They love it.

Mine get hay that I get from a local pet shop, get big bale for about £12. No idea what sort it is, but it always smells nice an fresh and both the pigs & buns love it.

Farm grown meadow hay
Oxbow orchard grass
Oxbow Timothy hay
Burns green oat hay
Readigrass
Dust free soft hay
Alfalfa king Timothy hay

Mine have Kimberley hay that I get from a local petshop. Can't remember what I pay, but very cheap for a large bag, and the pigs love it. The bag is big enough to last at least a month.

Mine love the Alfalfa King Timothy Hay - it's lush green isn't it?!

They also like the excel dandelion and marigold.

To be honest, I have just about every kind of hay you can buy in. I just think it's nice to mix it up a bit. I'm like, handful of this, handful of that - all in together. But I always check to see how green it is. I buy a big bag of the cheap stuff, just to line the bottom of the hay tub, they bury themselves and play in that stuff but only eat the expensive hay! haha.

They also like the chamomile hay - I give this when they've been a stressed out -because, I'm an idiot who believes that kind of stuff and thinks, well why not? haha. When Manny was poorly and had to stay at the vets, I took them up a bag of chamomile hay, he loved it! :)

Mine usually get a locally grown meadow hay, but recently it has been more straw-like so I've switched to Bob Martin's 'My Little Friend' meadow hay for a while.

It's 3.5kg, £4 in Asda, so when mum and I pick my brother up from work at the weekend, we go shopping round to the local Asda and I get it there.

It lasts about a fortnight for my 11 pigs and 3 rabbits but its a decent price and you get loads in there so it's great value for money.

Some of my pigs weren't keen on it at first but they've gotten used to it now :)

My naughty Bertie hated that Asda Bob Martin one! First time I put it in his cage he wouldnt even lay on it. Let alone eat it. I gave up and got him the one he likes!x)

mine get what ever the local farm have baled up... :))
its meadow hay type at the moment...
but a few weeks back it was very coarse more like alfalfa...
x

I buy a large bag from the local horse/pet suppliers for £3 which is normal farm hay. I use that in their large cat litter tray where they play. Then I use Burgess Excell (I mix up the different varieties) for the eating hay rack. So a bit spoilt I guess! rolleyes

I've tried many types. One of which had a picture of rabbits and piggies on but otherwise I don't remember the name.

Recently they are on a huge bag used for horses that I thought I'd try them on.

Timothy and Rye from Hay for pets. I'm not very good with weights so I nearly hit the deck when 9.5Kilos arrived :)) I use cheap meadow hay from Jolleys in the bottom of the hay trays. Seeing as it get changed twice a day I don't want to be throwing out huge piles of the more pricey one.

Meadow hay from the local farm shop. I buy by the horse bale so it's usually good quality (as all the horsey types wouldn't appreciate it if the bales were crap!)

£4.50 for about 15 kilos (if not more - I struggle to carry one). Bargain!

I mainly feed (in the hay racks) all types of Burgess excel. I also feed some Oxbow hay varities. Ive also now started (this last month) getting a large bale from hay for pets to fill the herds hay box, they love it.

x.

Hehe fussy boy! :p

Some of my boys are fussy actually. Robin loves his hay and popcorns for it lol Todd and Oliver turn their noses up at the really expensive stuff so the cheaper brands they will only eat a little of when I first put it in, which is kinda worrying but they do eat it all eventually! Jasper, bless him lol, because of his breathing condition, he takes so long eating anything, everyone else finishes before him :p

And all my girls love their hay, doesn't matter which kind, they'll eat any! :)

That hay does have a weird smell to it, maybe it was the smell that put him off?

Mine get a huge bale of dust extracted Meadow hay from the range for £3.99 or the same from Jolleys.
