My guniea pigs keep on growling at each other at night , I don't know what to do

Hi and welcome!

How old and what gender are you piggies? How long have you had them?

Do they wiggle their bums when they "growl"? This is called rumblestrutting and is very normal and mild dominance behaviour. many boars do it on a daily basis. Sows often when they come into season.

It's very true. I have two boys are rumbling is just a normal occurrence for them. It never escalates into anything. Just look out for the warning signs: constant loud teeth chattering, raising up on back legs, teeth baring, and check out the bonding and behaviour sticky threads. Unfortunately I can't link this on my mobile but hope you find the answers you need :)

I agree with the above posts. What gender are your piggies?

I have a neutered boar and two sows and he spends the majority of his time 'growling' rumbling at the girls which is perfectly normal guinea pig behaviour :)

thanks for the information. Your boys are still in puberty. It lasts from 4-14 months of age. Sometimes, boys that have had had an easy ride with the big hormones start when the other boys are practically through it. All you can do at the moment, it sitting it out as much as you can unless they start fighting. Whether they are related or not doesn't matter; that is unfortunately a persistent breeder myth!

Make sure that you have everything in twos, hideys, bowls, water bottles etc. and free access to hay all the time.

You can find lots more tips and information in this detailed guide here with further links: Boars: Bullying, Fighting, Fall-outs And What Next?
