In many posts I can see people are giving to their sick piggies a critical care and it seems to help pigs. What is that?

Not all pigs are as co-operating!

It's effectively ground down pellets that you add water to to turn into a mush, so you can syringe poorly animals.

9 times out of 10 you end up wearing more than goes in piggy.

Critical care is a powder formula which you make up with water in order to feed piggies that have stopped eating or are not eating enough. (which is one of the resons why we encourage people to weigh their piggies regularly). A piggy that is losing too much weight and has stopped eating is very soon a dead piggy if you can't get the guts going soon enough.
You can get it in on the internet. http://www.vetuk.co.uk/index.php?ma...nreuo6rc85neldf067s83s6&keyword=Critical+Care

Otherwise, you can always make up your own feed by mushing up pellets with some water, especially in an emergency.

It is adviseable to have some syringes at home (without the needles of course). You may also mix in a pinch of probiotic to help the guts along, especially if you have a piggy on antibiotics.
