I get the impression that muesli is a no no.

What in your opinion is the best
 
I will tag @helen105281 as she is an expert on pellets.

You are right - museli is not the best food for guinea pigs - the 2 main reasons are that some of the ingredients are questionable and secondly, pigs will munch on the bits they like - so , will not necessarily be eating the most nutritious parts of the museli anyway.

Recommendations For A Balanced General Guinea Pig Diet
 
Pellets are definitely better as it is a balanced food and they can't selective feed. There are mixed opinions on what type to feed, but I always recommend grainless pellets. I am working on a sticky thread about pellets at the moment, though it has come to a slight halt due to some health issues with my pigs but it should have all the information you need when I have finished.

The pellets I feed at the moment are these:

JR Farm Grainless Complete Guinea Pig | Free P&P £29+ at zooplus!
 
They arrive tomorrow and think thats what they are on but will look into other stuff thanks.

I remember when it was gerty guinea pig or nothing... and then a bowl full of pellets left

It's a good idea to change their food gradually anyway - to avoid any stomach upsets
 
Yeah... dont want them to get belly ache. I am so excited about getting them. They are still babies and were rescued... their friends/family got fed to a snake x

I'm so pleased you managed to rescue them .

I'm thinking about trying the JR ones, not sure yet, may have to get a small bag and give them ago :)
 
I know... I thought all the feeding to snakes talk was urban myth. obviously not
 
:btt: :lol!: Personaly l wouldent touch muslei , to many sharp spiky bits to get stuck in the gums
l feed Qualerty feed quality thimathy hay , and haringtons pellits
