hey guys elvis just peed on me ( not a nice feeling you know) and a couple of hours back he peed on the rug this is not like him . Is this marking his scent if so how long will he do it for.

Hiya,

Guineas scent mark by rubbing their backsides on the floor so if you clean the hutch/ cage out and put new bedding on they rub their backsides on the floor to make it smell like their own home.

I would say Elvis just had a wee because he needed one, Flora did it to me the other day, I don't think it actually means anything other than desperation for emptying ones bladder

Yeah it isnt scentmarking....my trixy pees all the time, Milly has never peed on me but trixys ruined loads of my clothing.....cheeky little devil > ;D

he did but he was to impatient he wriggled and peed straight away before i relised what was happening

When they need to wee, they get quite restless a few mins beforehand, and they may reverse to the edge of your lap. I found that it took a few months for them to start doing it though - new piggies just go everywhere! :

You'll get to learn that when he gets a bit fidgetty it means 'pee time'
Duke rarely pees on me now, as a little young one tho, he used to think it wonderful to use me as the pee pad and then run back to his towel beside me as it stayed nice and clean and dry : ;D ;D ;D ;D
