I am sorry to start yet another thread on this, I have seen the guine on here somewhere but now i cant find it.

Is 800g a normal weight for a 6 months boar? actually both of them same age and exactly same weight, which i thought was bit odd as they are 800g exactly.

If you feel their body, is it firm? If it is, then they should be fine. As long as they are not refusing food, then I think that you have nothing to worry about. You could always take them to the vet for peace of mind.

Agreed.

A lot depends on the build of the pig, too. My Guido was four and a half years old when he died last fall, and he never got over 1000g in his whole life. I was able to keep him around 850g or so for most of his life. He was simply a small-framed, small-boned, petite little man. Here's a photo of him:

Meanwhile, Batman was 1200g when I brought him home from the SPCA last summer, when he was 9 months old. He's nearly 18 months old now and hovers between 1250g and 1300g. He's a larger guy:

And then there are the brothers, Bubble and Squeak, who are Peruvians and all over larger pigs. I'm talking the largest guinea pigs I have ever had - difficult to get my hand around their rib cage large. Squeak weighs over 1400g, and Bubble is around 1360g or so. Here THEY are, with Batman:

I'm still getting used to how big the brothers are (I've had them since January this year). Their front paws seem twice as large as Batman's front paws!
