I noticed a small lump forming under Zambi's eye last week, have been told by Paul to wait for it to develop and I noticed tonight it's like this, hair loss...

I'm going to call him back tomorrow but wondered if anyone elses pig have had this?

He isn't acting any differently, eating, pooping, peeing normally... Still the same amount of activity, his eyes stream more than usual but his eyes stream anyways, it's just more! lol

It isn't crusty or hard at all, doesn't cause him pain. I think I knocked a scab off last week thinking it was sleep which he gets a lot of, which dries and becomes hard. x

i cant see the pic. very well...
but could be mites... fungal... or a bite...?
is it a round lump...?
or like a graze or cut on the skin...?
or a baldy patch...?
x

could you have just potentionally "waxed" some fur off when picking the sleep off his eyes....?
x

The fur wasn't gone when I took the sleep off, the furs only come off well the last day or two. Before that it was just like a lump, it's soft, it's more like a baldy patch right now. Before it was a lump, a bit like those pigs with the eye lumps (fatty eye?) but it wasn't exposed like theirs are...

It seems to have a black scam or something on it, I thought the picture was big enough, what you can see is what I can see with my naked eye... the dark bit on his eyelid seems to be a very soft scab possibly...

Yeah, Zuki, they aren't the 'best' of friends so it's possible. Just seems odd how it started and is progressing. I know he's had fungal infections before.

Lol, just caught Zambi biting his bum, makes me laugh a bit.

I'll ring Paul and tell him how it's developed but at least I can worry a tiny bit less. I'm still on tender hooks as I lost 3 pigs between December 2010 and July 2011 and so far it's been 2/3 months with no problems or illness. xx

if its not causing him any distress... i wouldnt stress myself out too much over it...
could have some sort of infection becuase hes had a small open wound...
fingers crossed its nothing too serious...
I'm off to bed becuase I'm struggling to keep my eyes open and i have work at 9am....
take care...

Ok, it seems to be looking like a fungal infection now, it's gone flakey. I've tried to contact Paul but I think he's busy, I'll try again later, I've been applying that cream you can get from gorgeousguineas. x
