Hey! I was getting out the piggies for some one on one time last night when I noticed these in Bean’s fur. I know you guys aren’t vets, but any idea what this might be?

I’ll be taking Beans to the vet soon as I’m assuming it’s probably lice and I’ll need to treat all three of my girls, but just wanted you guys to have a look please! I tried to take the clearest picture I could, I’m referring to the black specks. She wouldn’t hold still to see if they moved or not -

Sorry, I’m having a hard time describing! I mean those darker specs in the white patches of her fur? The specks of brown and such - I can see them clearly in the white parts of her fur but knowing me, I’m just paranoid

Looks like simple hay mites (as opposed to mange mites) to me. These are not particularly parasitic and are an occupational hazard of hanging around in hay. I’d ditch your current bag of hay and bath in an insecticidal shampoo such as Gorgeous Guineas Lice n Easy or Johnson’s small per insecticidal shampoo. I’d also invest in a lice comb and give the coat a good brushing.
they can sometimes be an indication that a piggy isn’t grooming themselves properly sometimes because they are under the weather so a health check may be a good idea anyway.

I did swap from Alfafa King to Excel Hay for a little while as store had none in stock! Thank you. I’m assuming just bath all three to get rid of them? :)

that would be my first port of call. Bathing according to the instructions, nit combing to remove the debris. Then if they persist in one piggy but not others then I’d suspect they weren’t keeping themselves as clean as usual and be monitoring for any potential health problem.
