Can anyone tell me what this is? It's my friends guinea pig which I am buying from her and it has this patch of hair missing and stabbing. She thinks it's ringworm.

It definitely looks like some form of fungal. Definitely will require vet appointment to get sorted.

I agree it looks fungal. You will also need to quarantine away from your own pigs though it is best to do that when getting a new addition anyway.

Good that a vet appointment has been made. It looks very much like fungal and it is likely ringworm.

Please do not keep single piggies; they are group animals and not wired to live on their own. Make sure that your friend has sexed her babies properly and if she is a girl, please ask your friend whether all boar babies have been removed at 3 weeks old to prevent sibling pregnancies. We offer a sexing service in our pregnancy section.

I have four guinea pigs, she has eight and we both do an animal management course, everything has been done right don't worry.
