Hi, so I was just doing a health check one one of my piggies, and on his belly was a yellow wormy looking thing,, is this a worrying sign?

Is your guinea a boy or girl ?

Any chance of a picture of the yellow wormy thing ?

A picture would be a good idea. Also are there any other signs/symptoms (broken hair, hair loss, wetness/diarrhoea)? Irrespective of the answers to the above I would get a vet to check the piggy over.

Is it attached to the body? The you may have come across a nipple or a belly button.Could you please take a picture. From your description, it is difficult to even make any guesses.

No, he is very healthy in every other way. None of those signs are visible.

Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure it was that. What does it mean?
It's perfectly natural for boars - I suggest you read the thread as it is very informative. Boars are also featured in the latest edition of Guinea Pig magazine.

Please take the time to read our boar guide; you will find it very helpful.

Sperm rods are basically dried excess semen fluid. They can be very painful if they are large and stuck. That is the one of the reasons why it is important to give you boys a weekly check-up.
if semen blobs dry on a piggy coat or the bedding, we are talking about boar glue, which is a very good description!
