My male guinea pig has something on his foot. At first I thought it was one of his feces that he had stepped in, but when I looked closer I saw that it was something else. It's a brown wart like thing on his front foot. Should I be worried about this, or will it heal on it's own? Do we need to take him to the vet for this?

Hi! Could you please post a picture? It is impossible for us to guess what it is from just your rather vague description.

Many guinea pigs develop horny spurs on their front feet. The colour of them depends on the skin colour. they don't need any attention unless they are in real danger of catching or ripping off some live skin.
Anything else should be seen by a vet.

I haven't been able to get a very good look at it until today, because he usually tries to bite when someone picks him up. I did finally get a photo of it.

That looks like a spur to me @Darksea14 . And unfortunately it looks like it needs to be trimmed.

As he doesn't like to be picked up I'd recommend taking him to the vet for them to trim it for you.

I agree with the above it looks like a spur which does need a trim (i advise by a vet). Spurs are harmless and usually can be left alone but if there in places where they can get caught, it's best to trim them. My ginger boar Mo has a spur on one of his front feet.
