Hhhmm it does look like red wee. Could just be very concentrated? Have they drank much? There was a wee like this on some of my vet bed once and i took the pigs the vets and there was nothing wrong, it was just that one wee a weird colour. I'd say put them on white bedding and see if either does another that colour and go from there x

Keep an eye on it...it does look a bit like red wee but also, guineas being messy monkeys, it could be some veg that they squished!

good idea i will get a white towel out, although I'm trying to figure out who it would be i never catch them weeing, each time i open the door the run lol so i dont see much x

I'd just see if you find another on first and if you do then you can get the out separately on white bedding or in a bath or something and check the wee's! xx

sounds like an idea,i will put the towel down in a minute before i head off to be once again being stressed I'm still awake at 2.30ammallethead,i have to bathe them tomorrow anyway so ill put them in the tub beofre i do to see if they wee x

ok i have put a very pale coloured fleece in as i couldnt find a white towel, after reading about Alfie the piggy who got very ill and had to be PTS from UTI i am now very nervous,i picked up Smokey because i have a very odd gut feeling that it is him and he feels a little bloated, not overly but more than usual, still cant sleep and its 3ammallethead

Please try not to panick Bonnie. Easier said than done I know. Yes, it could be bloody wee but it could also be concentrated pee or something they have eaten. If it is a UTI, the poorly piggy will need a dose of antibiotics. Septrin is the the best for a UTI. Keep a close eye on them for now. My girlies had funny coloured pee on Saturday and it lasted a couple of days. Turns out, it must have been something they had eaten as it has now gone back to normal xx

Spinach and iron rich veggies like broccoli and cabbage can cause discoloured urine. If you have been feeding iron rich veggies recently, maybe give it a break for a couple of days and see if the urine runs clear. One of my piggies has bladder issues and I have identified the veggies that irritate it so avoid these (particulary spinach which is a shame cos Mimsi adores this). Sending hugs to you and your piggy.

It looks like something my Llewi produced once, but then never again!

Hopefully, it's like that for Banditas well! I'm keeping my fingres crossed for him!

hmmm, they havent really eaten anything like that,Bandit and Smokey never get brocolli, cabbage or spinach as they hate all threerolleyes
i have checked the bedding today and have not found anything so it may just be a one off, fingers crossed x

Oh gosh Bonnie sorry to hear this........... perhaps also make sure they're getting lots of water! Even add more by sprinkling some on their veggies.
Lots of hugs and wheeeeeeeeeks from us all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I also forgot to mention, when my Connie was having all her problems :( My vet got in touch with a specialist who said that funny coloured pee can be normal in guinea pigs unlike with rabbits. Through Connie's illness, she had funny coloured pee until a few weeks before we lost her and although it was tested every few weeks, most of the time, it didn't contain blood or anything else xx

Guinea pig urine can oxidise to that colour, so it may be totally normal. Try and catch both pigs having a pee to check that the urine is clear/lightly creamy or milky when it's first expelled - if it is a UTI, it will typically come out red/pink/rusty.

Good news everyone,no bad wee's today:(|),I'm so relieved,i did cut out all the red peppers and carrot just so if it did happen i knew it wasnt that,
the do look very healthy and active so I'm sure it was a one off,ill keep you all updated though x
