Hiya,

Is he pooping ok? Could he be impacted? Someone should be along to advise soon, hope he is ok. Welcome to the forum by the way. :)

welcome to the forums. now i know next to nothing about boys but was wondering if he had something sticking into his private area? or maybe a URI. i would take him to the vet and get him checked out. is he in any pain? is it bothering him at all? is he urinating and pooping as normal? i would suggest a vet visit. i am sure more helpful people will be along to help you. good luck with your little man. hugs and cuddles to you and your boy from us in oz. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

the animal emergency vet is not opened right now. i really don't have a vet for my guinea pigs. it seems like he is trying to pee but can't. and is not pooping right now, but there did look like fresh poop in the cage. my two other boars are in separate cages

these were the best pictures i could take,as he would not hold still

It looks painfull for him poor piggie :'( If you cannot get him to a vets today/tonight the outlook could be grim. Have a ring around see if theres another vets that will see you sooner rather than later. It could be a number of things abcess , something to do with his cord how old is the piggie? good luck with him :)

Have you tried gently to manipulate his poops out??
Sorry i should say welcome first, from us in OZ :)
How long has he been like this?
I believe you can use vaseline just a bit to help clean out his bottom...... but try to manipulate them out first.
You're piggy needs to see a vet love as i'm only making suggestions :-\ I'm not sure if Mary is on if so she'd be the best to talk about this problem.
Also do a search whilst you're on here and see if there's something else similar.
Best of luck with your little one :smitten: :smitten:

welcome to the forum, i would definatly ring round a few vets and see if anybody can see him :(

he doesn't seem to be in any pain, he can poop. he is about a year old.
thank you for the welcomes

This gp needs a vet asap.It is not urinating you say,and the testicles look very inflamed. The redness of course could just be the bad pic.

Could be impaction, try and gently squeeze round the anus to see if anything comes out.

Impaction would not stop the pig urinating though.

Extrude the penis and see if it is sore or gunged up with semem.

I agree - vet asap. Is the swelling above his penis towards his tummy? Impaction swelling is usually below the penis in the perineal sac which is where the poops come out.

If he isn't peeing you should get to the vet urgently.

hoping your little piggy is feeling better today and has managed to relieve himself. please let us know how you got on at the vet. sending hugs and cuddles to you and your little boy. hoping he gets better soon. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Does not look like impaction seems to be in urinary tract piggys are great at hiding pain if I had that lump I would be I'm agony! Please get your guinea to the vet asap could be a range of problems but if he is not peeing it is essential he gets to a vets.

how is your little piggy today? has he been to a vet? hoping he is feeling much better. please keep us posted on his condition. sending hugs and cuddles from us in oz to you and your fur baby. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: good luck to you both!

ooo that does look sore :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: hope he's doing ok for you now O0

ok today when i woke up it had black on it. and now it has pus coming out,and a bit of blood. it is getting smaller as the pus comes out. we don't have a regular vet that take care of rodents in Toledo,Ohio

there is another problem with getting him to a vet... i can't drive :'( :-\ :embarassed:

Unfortunately there is really nothing you can do without a vet, that looks really nasty. I would start phoning around to see if you can find somewhere.

He really needs to get to a vet, it looks just like Ralfie's abscess was but i dont know what the black is :-\ its difficult to heal abcesses especially if they are left untreated like this xx

really hope you get your little fella to a vet, perhaps a friend or neighbour could drive you. it does look nasty and painful for the little fella. please keep us posted. sending hugs and cuddles to you and your little mite. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: guinea pigs can go down hill very fast so please get him to a vet, the longer it is left the more pain he suffers and maybe the harder it will be to treat. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

awwww poor little guy his little butt looks horribly sore :'( :'( :'(
Can you catch public transport or even take a taxi if it's not too far... :-\
Good luck i hope you've been able to get him to the vets he needs some antibiotics a.s.a.p.
Sending healing wheeks and some hugs for you too, you must be so upset for your little one :'( :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

If there is pus coming out and it is open it is important to keep it clean if he is not on them already give him towels for bedding and keep that area clean if you can't get hold of saline then put a little salt in hot water and let it cool then use that to gently clean it. He really does need to see a vet as he will need antibiotics to fight the infection, keep him clean and as comfy as possible and please get him to the vets as soon as you can. Good luck to you both.
