I can't comment on that as I said I have only had one conversation with them and the rest is just what I have read on here.... At least we have Sokel/Becklen here in the northwest to fall back on if we are looking for future pigs

I wonder what the council investigated them for? Running a business from home? Although a rescue is not a business, the breeding side could be, as it is moneymaking. Environmental Health? I don't know. I wouldn't have thought that the council would be interested in whether they rescue, breed or both so long as there are no environmental issues, and they pay the correct council tax ie, business or residential. xx
 
the people who have told me the info have not been told, they know, have seen it themselves and know it is true. i believe them 100%

all i know is what i have been told.

without the actual people who know for definite all this new info, i can't do anything else but give the info out and hope people listen.

i think if anyone knows this rescue and has heard this, maybe they will convince others that it is true. other than that, i assume this will be allowed to carry on.

i am hoping in time this person will retire.

anyway, i don't know how many recsues are in the north west so like briony said, we have sokel/becklen if people want to adopt from an actual 100% rescue! :)

no-more to be said i think, unless the people who know it to be true would like to add to this, now or at any time in the future. :)p
 
I have read with interest all of this thread and as i have personally experience of this rescue i can vouch it is true.
I no longer associate with this rescue for all these reasons. Some very Good work has been done and is done with rehoming genuine unwanted cavies at this centre but all the discussed practices were going on at the time i broke off my involvment 2 months ago.
I had posted about this rescue previously but do believe that its main fault is not be honest about practices,but that would mean it could not be solely marketed as a rescue centre which at present it is.
This is all about the cavies and i would just urge anyone visiting any rescue centre to ask for a tour ask about their practices to justify being a rescue centre and ask whether they breed or not :x

this is true i was shown a large number of pedigree guineas and adopted a lunky guinea pig this person also went on to show me the mum and dad,and grand parents all the babies were for sale this one was the last of the litter,this person also had texel,sorry if its spelt wrongmallethead :))lunkyaras sorry spell wrongmallethead, pavilion,coronets,dalmatian guineas,and wanted my rescue sheltie girls off me so she could breed from them, these are in my rescue.this person also said they were going to expand the rescue to make it bigger.How many rescues do you know with multiple pedigree breeds in which are for sale at a higher price than the rescue guineas donation of 15 pound.These go from 25 pounds has i was told the girls are worth 60 pound each and boys 40 pound each so this person wanted 25 each
 
I had Greg from this centre he had been there for some time awaiting rehome,Greg is in my picture the silver agouti rex.
His son was still there 2 months ago and has been used for breeding.I managed to secure Gregs Grandsons Dylan and Peanut at the end of June who have a forever home with us but i was unable to have the sow baby...
Can i also add that Guineawigsrescue is not the centre in question as i regularly post about this centre and fully support Claire with her rescue centre policy.xx>>>
