What I've Learnt Today!

Yes they do wee in great volumes and it is always very warm too.

I haven't been weed on during laptime yet but Joey has only just started to get used to it so I won't hold my breath! It amazes me the amount of wee & poo when I'm cleaning up after just an hours floortime!

My girls can pee like mad when they want too. Although I have three who can hold their bladders for quite an extraordinary amount of time! Obviously releasing when they can't hold it. Rambo & Patch they don't quite understand the concept of warnings and just let loose.
But the funniest has to be Rory… his pee is like ammonia, I have never smelt something so strong! Stinky male! Could knock you out given a chance!

I started off with lap towels until I realised they were no protection against 2 boys who weed on people's laps whenever they pleased. And as they have to be together everywhere that meant double the liquid. I now use baby cot waterproof mattress protectors at lap time. They are the perfect size for laps & surrounding sofa areas. However, Hazelnut often likes to climb up on a shoulder & sit there for a while, invariably weeing before abandoning his perch. I managed to find waterproof terry towelling bib aprons in a mail order catalogue, so bought a few of those. As friends & family who visit like to get the pigs out, I have several baby cot mattress protectors & bib aprons. Sometimes it's hilarious to see how we are decked out for piggy lap time. Here's a photo of a visiting friend dressed for piggy lap time.

I have this awesome waterproof lap blanket I got off one of the piggies sites, it's really comfy and it has never leaked. I often sit with mine for half an hours time and sometimes they need a wee, so this is one of the best things I got them :)

Puppy pads are good to put on your knee for cuddle time. If they wee it doesn't go right through.

@Lilly I love your boys!

I love how covered in protective clothing you are, I bet they are trying to produce more to compensate for it. It is their job :)

I think I might of been rushing things though. Having only had them for a very short while Eddie was just too nervous to have on my lap (he is the shy one), although Boris seems fine with it. Will probably wait a little while before I give it another go. Hopefully he will be calmer when he knows me better.

It has just occurred to me looking at Lilly's photo how small my boys are compared to hers. Now if Eddie can let go with as much wee as he did - I thought it was a lot - I can just imagine what it will be like when he is fully grown. OMG!

It's not a photo of me, it's a visiting friend of mine. But it shows what lengths my family & friends are prepared to go just to have the boys for a lap session.

My boys are almost 3 and 4 years now. Yes, you should notice as they grow bigger their wee output will keep pace!
