Hello everyone, I am new here to the forum. My name is Leah and I have 5 female guinea pigs who will hopefully be in my signature soon, but they are also on my avatar :)

Previously, I fed them all on the regular burgess excel nuggets for a number of months, but recently they've been going off them, and not finishing them in their bowls. Luckily they were running low anyway so we ordered some new food on Monday and went to collect it today from a local supplier. This food was the country value fruity nuggets.

I'd been researching on this food for a number of weeks now, and despite it being called 'fruity nuggets' it only actually has banana flavouring which makes the nugget very tasty and nice-smelling for the guinea pigs. They all seem to love it so far. This food is also made by burgess.

What does everyone else feed their pigs? I've heard many good reviews on Harringtons, I may have to purchase some of those to mix in. I think it's nice to switch foods every so often (over a 2 week period of course) to prevent boredem and promote happy, healthy eating :)

I’ve never heard of the fruity nuggets but i use burgess with mint at the moment, in the past i’ve used burgess with black current and oregano, my pigs love any burgess, and personally i think they are the best nugget feed on the market.

I'm currently feeding them Burgess Blackcurrant and Oregano Tasty Nuggets. They won't eat anything else now :P

Mine are on oxbow Cavy Cuisine after a lot of research. Even Maggie, previously dubbed The Muesli Monster, loves it!

Mine don't like Burgess, tried all the flavours and it usually gets left, same goes with science selective some eat it some don't so not very cost effective for me. At the moment i feed a mixture of marsdens crunch pellets and pets at home pellets and everyone loves them so its what i'm sticking with for now. They all get eaten and no waste. If you are feeding unlimited hay and a good diet of veggies, herbs and leaves then pellets aren't so important to me, they are just an extra :)

I have seen the food you are feeding they are made burgess but under a new name or so my local animal feeds place told me, they are similar to a pellet but look more like a muesli with the colours on the packet in order to try and encourage people to feed pellet based not muesli :)

The only really low calcium pellets are sold in the US and it costs an arm and a leg to get them shipped here, plus customs would not allow them to pass, as it's food. I give my pigs low calcium dried vegs instead, works well too.

I use harringtons pellets which are a hit and burgess original which they also like too. I keep seeing those country v. alue ones around, I actually thought they were museli mix upon first glance so ignored them. I may get a bag to offer as a treat. I was given a small bag of museli by someone so have been sprinkling a snall amout on the floor after clean out time. They love it as a treat but i'm only doing it until the bag has gone

I currently use Burgess Blackcurrant and Oregano Tasty Nuggets, but used to use normal Burgess before hand but they went off it, mine like variety..so when i get low going to by science selective and mix that in for them to try.

My older boys eats muesli, but the younger boys go between Country Nuggets, Harringtons Optimum, and Pets at Home.

My bunnies eat the Country Value nuggets. 16% fibre is good for the price of them.

Ooo seems like the blackcurrant and oregano ones are a hit .. My piggies have never had them as I tend to buy 10kg bags, because 2kg just doesn't last!

One of my girls will only eat Muesli, she is eating the country value ones but not all of them. My other 4 seem impressed so far. They smell deliciousss!

Yes, 16% fibre is brilliant. I've noticed guinea pig food is a lot cheaper than rabbit food.

I started off using P@H nuggets but my boys got bored of them and would pick at them i then switched to Burgess Excel which i used for ages&ages they loved them and would always finish the bowl off but my petshop had run out one day so I then thought i would give Supreme Science select a try which again was a massive hit, but it was becoming expensive so i now feed Harringtons and they adore this food i've been feeding this for a while now, i brought a bag of excel so they could have a mix but they just picked all the harringtons out and left the excel they wont eat anything else now i would highly recommend Harringtons.
On a rare occasion they have had Wagg muesli mix, but they seriously hate muesli mixes they would rather go hungry than have to eat it ! :))
