i have a male guinea pig who a rescue piggy.hes about a year old.he is netured.hes female friend died and I was thinking of getting him a friend should I get him another female and what age should the guinea pig I am getting as comany what age should he or she be

Hello and welcome to the forum. The best thing to do is to take your piggy to your nearest rescue were he can choose his own friend. This is called boar dating. This works really well and saves getting another piggy and finding they do not get on. It would be easier to bond him with a female and ages do not matter as it is personality that has to match.

Would always get a girl if he is neutered. He is far more likely to fight with another boy. If a rescue centre is nearby then would definitely go for that. The younger the girl the less likely she is to be grumpy with him.
