i have used fleece bedding exclusively up until now, but i have started implementing kitchen areas that i have just been lining with fleece but i think disposable bedding is a tidier more sustainable alternative, though i will continue to use fleece for the main part of their cage.

what shaving(s) is completely safe for piggies?

Aubiose is a good alternative to shavings - made from hemp I think. Usually obtainable online or at equine feed merchants. I use this in my hay trays. I also use shavings occasionally and always use snowflake as these are dust extracted (allegedly - but there is still some dust)and seem the best to me. Someone has told me recently that there has been research done that shows shavings can have a detrimental effect on guinea pigs kidneys? Not sure if anyone else has seen this - something I need to research I think.

I like aubiose or megazorb. I find aubiose harder to get hold of though so generally go for megazorb. If I do use shavings then I buy Snowflake

Snowflake aren't bad and I have no issues recommending them but my preference, shavings wise, is Nature's Own. Unfortunately I can't justify a frequent Nature's Own delivery and I can get the Snowflake shavings with a Tesco delivery so they get used more frequently.

I use back to nature in our kitchen area, it’s more than shavings but as I don’t use loads I don’t mind, they have a bit more weight to them so don’t go everywhere!
