HI i bought a female pig from PETS AT HOME eight months ago, it was only a small little thing. it went to live my only other female pig who was about 4/5 years old... they get on fine.. now what weight should the young one be? she is now.2 pounds and 7 ounces... her last weigh in was in November last year, when she weighed 2 pounds and 4 ounces....
my older one weighs 2 pound and 12 ounces.... any help thanks...

That would be around 1.22KG (or 1220g) which sounds like a nice healthy weight :) Ive got 5 sows and all but 1 weighs between 1KG (1000g) - 1.4KG (1400g) - my smallest sow weighs around 950g - but i put this down to her having to nurse a litter of 2 pups at around 16wks old (another pets at homne mistake)

thanks for the info, happy to know that the little skinny sow i bought, from pets at home. was only a few weeks old i believe... is now a healthy weight...and living with the older sow, and are both happy and content...

the pets at home shop.has now is free of any guinea pigs, but has plenty of large rabbits in a small enclosures, and also has chinchilla's and hamsters.. are look sad.. bless...

It sounds a normal weight, also personally, I am more of a metric person!

Please weigh your guinea pigs weekly if possible; that is an important part of monitoring health and catching problems early on when chances of making it are still good.
