Hi there

Planning on getting 2 lil piggies.

Have had such conflicting advice about what sort of cage to get. Some pet shops say the ferreplast 100 is more than adequate and other says it should be the ferreplast 120.

What do people think?

Ferplast120 for 2 piggies, the 100 is only suitable for one.

RSPCA recommend 4' x 2' for 2 (bigger for 2 boars) although the biggest you can afford is the best option :)

Another option if you don't have cats/dogs is a C&C cage which can work out cheaper

I would take what pet shops say with a pinch of salt, they probably hope you'll buy the 100 then realise you need bigger and go back at a later date and buy the 120 from them.

Thanks Bailey.

Mine and my partners instinct is to go with the Bigger cage.

Is it advisable to get one with more than one level. Oh really wants one with ramps and upper levels but I didn't think Piggies were very good climbers?

You can if you modify the ramps for them. The thing to remember is that the ramp and hole for the ramp on the upper level will take up floor space, so they could end up with less floor space than a single level cage.

I just got the ferplast 120 a week ago as my boys have outgrown the one they have been in since I got them which was an old rabbit cage from years ago.

I wish I had got it in the first place, its a great cage with plenty of room.

I would go with the 120... you won't go wrong! My boys love it!

It also has quite a bit of height so if you wanted to add another level you could - I knw people on here have. It comes with a small level which my boys are quite obsessed with, and use it as a second bedroom! :)

Great advice here - get as big as you can.

Ramps are good if modified with sides and even then not all pigs will use them

I have cats and dogs too and I have a C&C cage that is proofed from them and never had a problem. It can be done.

Thanks all :) Getting the cage Thursday. Will have to wait to get the piggies until the week after.
