Hi I want to build a c and c cage but not sure what to build it out of. I am not sure if I can build it out of mdf or do I have to cover it with something or not use it at all because all the woods that are guinea pig friendly are really expensive. What are your cages like?

unsure on that seeing as i bought my cage but stay away from cedar and pine wood :tu:

Will your guinea pigs be living inside or outside?

Depending on where they will live you might find it is cheaper in the long run to actually buy a well constructed hutch, which will last you for years.
Sadly appropriate wood and fixings are expensive, so this isn't always the cheapest or safest option.

If they will be inside you could always use C&C grids which will create a custom size cage at a reasonable price without too much effort.

There are some excellent threads here with details and pictures of housing set ups used by members.

They are indoor but I was thinking as they will be in the main room to build a raised one, simply it will be a sort of two storey table with walls and storage underneath. It's a really big table too so they will have enough space. Does this sound good?

This thread is from last year so you were better off starting your own. You can use correx or plastic sheeting as your base. It depends where you’ll be sitting the cage.
