Good to have independent confirmation, citing US sources and links, that the advice on this forum is following pretty much the same lines!
My only point is that female spaying is a much more invasive and expensive operation, so it is undertaken much more rarely these day unless there is a medical indication for it and there are no longer any rescues in the UK with a sow spaying policy.
