my little guinea pig has just passed away at only 6months. this is the first piggie i have had and dont know wot to do with his body i dont want to throw it away like any old rubbish as he was a very special little piggy to me in his short life. has any1 any ideas on wot to do. also squeak his best friend is pining do you think i should get another friend for him and if so how should i know what guinea he would not fight with

I usually bury all my animals together under a nice shady tree in my garden. Maybe you could choose one of your favourite spots or maybe a spot where he liked to be? If you're not sure whether to get another piggie have you got a cuddly toy you could put in with Squeak that he could cuddle up to. I tried to put two males together and they did fight. Maybe a spayed female?

Hi,

I lost a pig at 5 months in October I gave Cuzzy's little body to the vet to cremate it was free of charge. I can't bury in the garden as we have feral cats. But if you can bury in the garden and plant a little bush that would be a nice touch as I feel we had no closure. I think throwing in a bin is disgraceful and not something I would ever do.

I would get squeak a friend I did this with Cuzzy's cage mate Eccles, it helped fill some of the gap but at the end of the day as long as the pig has some company that is the most important thing.

Good luck!

Louise

am so sorry for your lost of bubbles :'( :'( :'( welcome to the forum from me and the girls in oz :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: run free swet darling RIP popcorn and find eternal peace, your life was so short. loved so much so sadly missed 0:) 0:) 0:) if you have a rescue near you take squeak with you and let him pick out a friend. in the mean time give him lots of cuddles and attention :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: we always lay our fur/feathered babies to rest in the garden, after the hole is dug we have a little funeral, say silent prayers and bury our loved lost one. if you haven't got anywhere to lay him to rest perhaps cremation and have the ashes returned to you? again sorry for your lost. RIP sweet little bubbles angel :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: sending hugs to you and squeak :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: there is a section here called rainbow bridge pets where you can put up a thread for bubbles as a tribute to him. take care :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

RIP Bubbles. I bury all my pigs in the garden, you need to dig a fairly deep hole in the ground to prevent anything digging it up.

As for getting Squeak a friend, well you have a number of options. First I would say make sure Squeak is 100% healthy. You don't want him accidently passing anything on to a new friend :) You can either get another boar friend, or have Squeak neutered by a competent vet at 6 months old. Four weeks after the neutering, he can be introduced to a lady friend. Whatever you decide I would strongly suggest getting a pig from a rescue as sickly animals like poor Bubbles come from pet shops. Sorry for your loss x

When my piggy past away I put her in the in the yard, but if you have cats i don't know. :'(

RIP 0:)

if you bury her and put tin and bricks on top of the grave then bubbles will be safe from cats and foxes O0 we also put tin in the grave to also protect our love one from animals digging them up O0 so if you put bubbles in a shoe box or something and put her in her resting place, put a bit of tin that is a tight fit in the hole and cover with dirt. then put another sheet of tin on top of grave with bricks, logs or something heavy. O0 again amd so sorry for your lost of bubbles :'( :'( :'( RIP sweet darling. 0:) 0:) 0:)
