hey well you all know i got another rescue baby to put with percy called biscuit well from day one he has been a biter and he is getting worse he just bit me through my dressing gown is this normal and one other thing since the day after i got him he has been sneezing alot he is on the same bedding as he was at the shelter and he eating the same hay and food so I'm at a loss :( anyone have any ideas what to do ?

maybe he has a cold?

In regards to the biting, this is totally normal for a pig his age especially a newly adopted pig. He is still getting used to you and his surroundings, so is probably still a bit scared of you

I have a one who has always bit me :( guess he always will! of course yours may just be cos a baby.. is it a bite or nip?

as for the other, i would have him checked at the vets to be on the safe side.. one of my boys sneezes and coughs all the time, but vet doesnt know why, he does this more after drinking.. another one i had had a serious chest infection, even though symptoms seemed the same x

if it was a cold how long would he have it for as ive owned him now for nearly a week :( yes he is still getting used to things I'm sure he will grow out of it i hope lol :)

Yes if you are at all concerned about his health I would definitely get him checked out by a vet. They can go downhill so very quickly.

Just give him time, and he will soon become more friendly and less likely to bite. He's obviously very timid.

thanks i think i will take him to the vets tommorow just to get it checked out they have there own vet at the shelter said i can bring him back if any concerns so i will do it tommorow :)

Hopefully he will but i have 2 older boys who still like to give the odd nip altho' i do like to think they are "love nips" and not actual bites :))

:)):)):)) They have no manners at times Jane. Haggis has had a chomp n brought blood, Magoo is always having a nibble & Toddie's not only nibbled me but bit Louise on the boob! :))

just check whether the baby hasn't got any lice or bald spots that may be mange mites as it can cause them to bite you if they are in pain so i am told. One of mine goes for me all the time and I think it may be to do with lice called static lice that i noticed today. if you don't see anything i bet its just a bit scared as eveyone said.xxxxx
