Some of my piggies keep getting fungal and I'm not sure why?
I've changed their bedding from shavings and hay to fleece, I spot clean everyday (removing poo & veg) disinfect the hutches.
It's always my long haired ones (who are brushed regularly) Lottie my Coronet, Peppa my Texal and Shy (semi long haired).
Yet my 2 short haired Daisy & Willow and my Teddy Betty are all fine.
I treat them straight away and then a few months later it starts again, my vets says some piggies are just prone to fungal.
I've been told that it is possible it could be their hutch so I've taken it out of the shed for a damn good clean with Milton and I'll put it back in a few months, if the piggies are fine in that time then it must be the hutch.
My boys are a short haired and a Coronet and both of them are fine, they live in a hutch next door to the girls.
So at the moment I have the girls running free in a huge c&c run and they're loving it, they have boxes filled with small dog beds and hay, pigloos filled with hay, snuggle sacks filled with hay.
Little betty has done nothing but wheek and popcorn for the past half hour since they went in.

If anyone has any ideas what else could be causing it then I'd love to hear from you.

Hey, it's strange, there seems to be a lot of fungal and mites around at the moment doesn't there? Hopefully you'll find they're fine now and it was their hutch, fingers crossed that's a stop to it, must be so stressful xox

I've just looked at a link someone else has posted so I'm going to try a oil and carrier oil treatment to see if that works, fingers crossed.
