what should i expect from guinea pigs meeting through the cage?

Anything from playing it cool and ignoring the neighbour to cage gnawing and being desperate to meet. Some dominant piggies rumblestrut to mark their territory and work out which of them comes top. Fear-agressive piggies may get into a teeth chattering contest.

It very much depends on the piggies involved, how open they are to newcomers and how open or nervous newbies are.
