What To Feed Little Gp's

Our 2 new babies are 2-3 months old. I am not sure what quantity of food to be offering them. They seem very uninterested in the pellets but are enjoying red pepper slices, cucumber slices dandelion leaves (they have rejected wild strawberry leaves) they have had a scant palmful of each. Not sure if they have touched the water bottle at all. They only arrived yesterday so we are still establishing a routine.

What pellets are you giving to them? Maybe they'll eat them when they've settled in.

Yeah what Kerrie said! :p If they are new you may not notice them drinking water as they'll probably do it when you're not in the room and can come out of hiding! They will be getting water from their veg too so don't worry too much, it takes them a while to settle in

They should be fine with those pellets, though mine prefer the Burgess Excel mint ones, also the Science Selective pellets are good for young piggies as they have alfalfa as their main ingredient which is higher in calcium and good for growing piggies

Are the pellets the brand they were eating before you got them? It's only early days yet and they will take a while to settle in. Make sure they have plenty of hay and places to hide in so they feel safe. Don't worry too much about how much the are drinking yet as there will be water in the veg. I feed piggies up to 6months old as many pellets as they like (except if they are really porky) and reduce the amount to a few tablespoons of pellets after this.
