What do you think a website needs on it that sells Guinea Pig housing?

Like information and so on?
Any help be great.

I know no one replied and i'm talking to myself but would you like to see links and a page to local Rescue Centres and whatever information they supply? Could include pictures of Guinea Pigs to be rehomed if allowed?

Or just link to the http://www.guineapigrehome.org.uk?

A link to the rehoming site would be a good idea and individual rescues. Also, perhaps a link to the RSPCA guidelines as to the minimum housing requirements for guinea pigs.
It would be good for the website to have an advice section about suitable bedding and wintering guinea pigs inside/ in a shed/ sheltered space.

:)

On a website that sells guinea pig housing, I would expect to see hutches, cages, and other guinea pig housing...the clue is kinda in the name of what you're selling... ;)

Just look at some other sites and see what they do.

I want to do something different than the rest.

How easy is it to do that, why not offer bit more like?

Well you could be one of the few who only sell decent size housing!

Bedding to buy too would also be good.

If you're gona do it, please do it properly though, unless a website is easy to navigate and the payment system is VERY secure, I wander off I am afraid.

Guinea pig hutch/cage sizes; bedding; winter protection/heat wave measures; links to the guineapigrehome website, specially recommended rescues. Perhaps a forum link for more information/help on guinea pigs?

Just as kitchen firms 'do' kitchens and try to show them in use - try to show the hutches actually in use. How big is it with a guinea pig inside it? Can they climb up the ramps? How easy is it to get your guinea pig out for cuddles? How secure is it and do you need extra locking and can this be put onto it? If you know someone who has modified thier hutch by perhaps fastening it down so that it cannot be stolen then is this possible and if so how?

People also want the easy option - all inclusive type of thing. Just imagine pet shops and their 'hamster offer' cages with bedding and bowl and bottle etc etc. Could you do an all in easy set up hutch?

Just a suggestion or two there.

Best of luck with it.

I think it would be very good for you to offer bedding that ISN'T shavings, but can be just as cheap if not cheaper.

Google 'paper horse bedding' and you will find some brilliant alternative beddings, you could apply to become a reseller - if you're cheap enough I'd buy from you!

One of the reason i'm here doing research is that i want to do it properly and the right way with the animals welfare at heart. If anyone could give me a link or a list to the right sizes for housing which says how many Guinea Pigs can live in there that would be great?

I only know that two can live in a hutch 4ft by 2ft by 2ft.
The website will be as professorial as i can get it, payment at the moment would be Paypal, Goggle checkout, back transfers, cheques etc.

I know shavings are not good for small pets, can you tell me if paper horse bedding is safe?

I guess it is but as with a lot of products, they say there are safe but not always the case.

It’s hard for me to show them in use as i only got a rabbit. The measurement given as will be the inside, so if its 4ft by 2ft, or 8ft by 4ft etc that would be how much room is inside the hutch.

If you’re willing to work with me, i can design and build ramps and others things that make life easy for Guinea Pigs to use, but i need help with that part?

I was looking at making all hutches with the front facing side being doors, so that you just open one or both to gain access, i think this should make it easy to get in and get cuddles.

I like the sound of a easy hutch for those who do not have all the things already, could add them as option for the buyer/customer to add as they go along.

Will link too many websites that are like this one, won’t have a forum as I do not wish to moderate one. So would be better to link to this one.
