What Type of Guinea Is This?

Hi there! First time posting in this part of the forum.

My moving date got moved up, so I'm now going to be choosing my guinea pigs by this month, so that I can get them at the end of March/first week of April. Exciting!

Anyways, a duo of adult boys I've had my eye on for forever is still up for adoption at this point, and I'm really hoping I can get them before they're adopted! I know the chances aren't the greatest, since the shelter can't/won't hold the guinea pigs for me, but I've got my fingers crossed.

This is them! Dasher is the long-haired one, and Donner the short-haired. I know Donner is probably a smooth-coat/American, but what would Dasher be?

Dasher and Donner are both adult guinea pigs, and are currently in a foster home. The center will work with me on living far away and wanting to adopt, so I'm really hoping that no one else sees these two and grabs them before I can get the chance!

Hi there. Looks like a type of peruvian guinea pig to me. I guess if the wait for them is long, just try not to get too attached if they go as they are very cute piggies!

Awww they are certainly a striking pair! And as said above, I do hope it works out for you- but if not you will find the piggies for you.

I also would say Dasher is a Peruvian or at the very least a Peruvian mix.

I'm trying to keep my hopes in check, but as you all said, they are a very striking pair and I really do like them. There have been other pairs and even a trio I was watching, but as expected, they were adopted pretty quickly. Dasher and Donner have been listed for over a month and a half now... It gives me a little bit of hope that I'll get them!

I am a bit worried as to what I'll do if they are adopted. They're the only pair, male or female, for 250 miles. All the rest of them left are singles, most of them young to just barely out of their teens. I know I could try bonding a pair myself, but I'm kind of nervous about trying that with my very first pair of pigs...

Sucks to live out in the middle of nowhere, unfortunately.

I hope you get them too but there will be other piggies. I guess the only way of getting these guys is if you find a way to collect them sooner if your environment is set up for them now (& planning the move you mentioned). Good luck!

Thanks for the luck! Their environment isn't set up quite yet(I'm waiting for it to come and I am HYPED up, but some things like custom fleece liners could be a long while), but it should be guinea pig ready by March at the latest. Sooner I'm hoping, but unfortunately, it's a bit out of my hands. I'll make sure to get pictures up as soon as I get anything set up

I don't think I can get them sooner though, as it would be difficult for me to take care of them if I get them before I actually move in. I wish though.
