Hi all,

I'm new here! My wife and I were searching the net for a guinea pig, because we're going to get one. We're just in love with this particular one in the picture, but for the life of us, we can't figure out what kind it is!

We figured that if anyone would know, it would be a forum of experts. Any help would be appreciated! ;)

Chocolate or black otter...I can't be certain on the colour because of the light in it

I would go to your local guinea pig rescue and see what they have. They can give you much better advice than most pet shops and also thier is so many young piggies who have been rescused it is alot better really to get a rescue wiggly.

I'll have alook in my guinea pig book and see if i can have a guess but to be honest i am hopeless i dont even know what mine are lol

There are so many gorgeous piggies in rescue, all will have been health checked and bonded with a friend so they come home to you ready to start their new life with a best friend. If you are in the UK (as I am assuming you are) we can recommend some really great rescues that could be near you or able to help transport you and your piggies to their new lives. https://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msid=209994852075231951564.0004b8fd9391b4257d8eb&msa=0 this is the map to the recommended rescues

Thanks for all the replies! I'm still trying to figure out the type - I tried the otter, but that wasn't it. I will visit a guinea pig rescue, but hopefully someone will know what this guy is. He makes me smile, lol.

it looks like a chocolate crested from that point of view or a chocolate american (short hair)
