I was just wondering what everyone else feeds their piggies haywise.

When I first got them I bought Excel Herbage, but I think it's hard, dry and poor quality.

Then I moved onto www.dustfreehay.co.uk which is soft, green and smells gorgeous... but it's very expensive; delivery is £8! :o

My mum bought a bag of Meadow Pastures when I was on holiday so I'm finishing that but it doesn't look very nutritious in comparision to hay #2. :(

What do you like most, how much do you pay and where does it come from?

I ahve gone through so many types of hay. I've tried Asda's wagg hay, dust free hay, wilkonson's brand hay and now i'm using supreme meadow hay.

Luckily the piggies eat any kind, well they wheren't keen on the last bag of wilko's but i ahve 4 rabbits and it's murder finding a hay they will eat and the piggies :P

I use standard P@H hay for dressing the cage, though they do eat it too. I buy the Excel Herbage, my two absolutely love it and start popcorning and squeaking when I put it in the cage.

I use Oxbow timothy hay and oat hay for feeding and meadow hay for bedding. Luckily there is a great shop not too far from me called Surrey pet supplies that stocks it. The timothy hay is very expensive at nearly £20 for a 4kg bag but it lasts about 6 wheeks ;D

I feed mine timothy hay and alfalfa hay, have been the whole time I have had him but he prefers the timothy stuff more I put a large handful in his hay holder on the side of the cage and he munches away on that alot. I have never heard of any other kind of hay to give my pig but then again I have only seen the 2 types i mentioned above at my local pet store.

I use Herbage too but I'm thinking of mixing it as I think the boys are a bit fed up with it. I'll probably mix with meadow from Wilko's. :)

I buy hay by the bale and my piggies usually prefer it to the expensive ones.

I use Timothy hay, its £9.00 a bag by me! :o But it smells so freah and My girlies love it! I have used alot of different types (even cheap stuff!) And its always been demolished, but i think that this seems the most nutrience for them!.

I have a farm by my and they sell Huge bags of hay for 50p, or a bale for £4.00- prob is the bale takes up too much room!lol

I usually buy a couple of different ones so that i can add some variety. They currently have Meadow Hay andExcel Herbage and are working their way through Burns' mini oat hay bales. :)

I get my hay from a store around the corner called 'Barastoc Animal Feeds.' They sell big bales of hay for $20.00, and it's so soft and green. My piggies LOVE it! ;D

I tried my buns on oxbow timothy hay yeterday and gave my piggies a handful as a treat and they went mad for it all3 munching mouthfuls of it, take it they liked it.

Reckon they shouted at my buns to settle on this hay so they can ahve it every day :D

ok, recently found a new type of hay at my local pet store they just got in it is Orchard Grass and my piggy shadow seems to like it. :D his fav is still timothy hay though :)

mine really like the dandelion one...is quite expensive tho £2.99 for a small bag

My piggies love Kaytee's bermuda grass, but its rather pricey here. They turn up their noses at Hay Pro Timothy hay because its quite leafy. They seem to prefer hay with more sticks or grass .

I've just spoken to Norman @ dust free hay again - he's introduced big bales of meadow hay now; he said they are 7-8 times the volume of a regular 7.99 bag for 25.99 so I'm going back to dust free meadow!

DF Hay are excellent, and this is still 2006 hay but its just like new.
