I live in Wichita Falls Texas and they do not sell Timothy hay around here unless you go to the pet store and buy pre packaged Timothy Hay. I was wanting to know what type of hay would be acceptable to feed them, I belive they sell grass type hay and alfalfa hay in bails. My daughters like to go outside and get handful after handful of grass out of the yard and feed them.

Essentially you want a good quality hay, so it should smell fresh not musty/mouldy, look fairly green and not be dusty. I find my pigs like softer, leafier hay rather than the really stalky stuff. I would think that either the timothy hay or the grass type (meadow?) hay would be fine for general use, you can feed them alfafa but it is high in calcium so they shouldn't have it too often.
