Mine seem to love all salad and veggies, not keen on fruits. 98)
With all the things that I keep learning (lettuce is too high in water, as is cucumber, kale is high in Vit C but also in Vit A which should be avoided etc etc) are there any staples that you feed your pigs every day without concern?
Follow up question - how much of it or how many veggies?
I change the veggies everyday but if I buy a bag of kale and there is a little left over then I would give them some the next day too mixed with other veggies. I give cucumber a few times a week and carrots as well as what ever I decide to buy that week.
I don't give any same veggies every day on purpose - sometimes it may happen - I try to give a variety to avoid boredom. Mine loves fruit too so I add this in. I don't think there's a problem with giving lots of cucumber as it is almost 100% water but that shouldn't harm them. They do get limited amount of goodness from the green skin bit too. Never heard that about kale and have actually always seen it listed as a good veg to give - will investigate this further! :smiley6600:
i try to give mine different veg everyday but because i only have the two they sometimes will get the same thing. when i go shopping every 4-5 days i get different things from the week before O0
Mine get different veggies each - I try to keep it varied for them. Though they do tend to get broccolli every day because they love it and one does them the whole week.
i buy mine veg once a week but the amount lasts a week - we buy 2 celery things every wheek - normally a sort of lettuce or cabbage thing - maybe something else.
and normally on saturday (when the veg has been used) the get cucumber.
I give grissom cucumber nearly everyday as he doesn't like drinking out of his bottle so this ensures that he gets enough water but other than that I do try and rotate every day, what I am giving them.
