Hey i was just wondering if i have to use a specific wash powder when washing my piggies towels etc. Non-Bio or will any be ok? I don't want to irritate their sensitive skins. Haven't got the towels yet but need to get some ready for when Jack is old enough to give him his lice n easy bath :)

I handwash my piggies' small stuff (small fleecees and pieces of vetbed for their sleeping areas) in ecover washing up liquid. I wash the towels I dry them with after shampooing in my usual non-biological suitable for coloured items detergent. This doesn't cause them problems. Make sure things are well rinsed!

I use Asda non-biological in the washing machine, never had any problems although it does get an extra rinse to make sure its completely rinsed through.

Thank you :) I use non bio got my daughters clothes so will use that for piggies stuff too

I don't know about this bio/non bio stuff... I do my piggy stuff (as well as my own stuff) in unscented powder becaue I figure they walk around with their noses right over it all day. I mean, if they are bothered by smell that would be awful! I just realised too that fleece do fine in 95 degrees (I had no idea but I suspected illness and felt I wanted to be sure the stuff was germ free).

I've washed at 90/95 degrees before but found that if you wash it more than a few times at that high a temperature it goes a bit funny and really creased up. Not a good description but suffice it to say that it does spoil it so I wouldn't recommend that you do it too often! :)
