Although i have 6 guinea pigs, me and my hubby do have a favourite which would be our gorgeous Mr humphrey.

Humphrey is getting on a bit now and has even started going grey around his mouth and under his ears.

I started with a cold on top of my morning sickness a week a go and started getting quite depressed (feeling horrible all the time does that!) So my husband brought humphrey indoors knowing full well he would keep me smiling.

My hubby pointed out the other night how devastated we was going to be when humphrey passed - the truth is we would never find another guinea pig like him.

Humphrey has the best personality ever, he can be such a clown at times, he has noise competitions with the hoover, rumble strutts at the dogs and the one time he managed to escape into our lady pigs pen and instead of doing what boars do he just froze out of shock lol (don't worry we saw him escape and picked him up immediatey) He really isn't one for the ladies!

I really will miss this little fellow when he's gone and i plan on enjoying whatever time we have left making him the happiest pig in the world.

Aw honey, he is gorgeous, i love his sparkly eyes. The same question enters my head often when i think of our 4, i try so hard not to think of it, and just spoil them rotten, then i can never be guilty that they needed more.

xx

I wouldn't get caught up in how you'll feel when he goes, you have him in the here and now. Sure it hurts when that special piggy goes but at least you can remember there little quirks with a smile on your face and know you gave them a good life.

x

When he goes, you'll do what you need to do depending on your situation at the time. If he leaves behind another piggy pal, you'll do your best for that remaining pig by getting him/her a friend etc. etc. etc.

He'll never be replaced, you'll never find one the same, but in my experience, you'll find another pig that is in need of a loving home, that will fill a little of the hole that he left, and their own little quirks and character will come out with time!

I've just gone through all the pics i have of him and in every one he's either smiling or pouting lol

he really is a character!

I must admite i feel the same about my boy Chester, and i feel bad for favouring one of my piggies but his character is just something i know i'll never find in another guinea pig and i don't ever want to be without his pouting little lips !

They really do know how to catch our hearts don't they? When i met my hubby he said NO PETS, then we got squeaky and humphrey and the other pigs soon followed. He loves them just as much as i do but he will never show it around other people lol

He even gets squeaky to sit on his lap when football is on as squeaky gets very excited when he hears people cheering on tv lol

I absolutely love our Piggys but have a soft spot for Lottie, she too is such a character. She has a big personality and is so squishy to hold-she loves you to kiss her lips and rub your nose on her velvety bit. :)
One of the boys Cookie is the same-he always looks like he's grinning at you.

I have moments of thinking how much I dread one of them getting ill and possibly losing one, it was so hard when we lost Snowball :(
The four girls are such a happy little herd too.

I think though you just have to make the most of them and give them the happiest life possible. Snowball was only with us a short time but he was given the best life-my daughter spoilt him and that's what counts so when that time comes you know they had the best life.

He is so adorable with those smiley lips. Don't worry about the future, just enjoy the present with such a lovely piggy.

I've said this before to others about their pets but I only say it because it's true!

You only get upset about losing a pet because you care about that pet. If you didn't get upset you shouldn't be keeping that pet in the first place. Humphrey is a very lucky pig to have such a caring family to look after him, and I wish him many more happy days with you.
The answer to 'what will I do without him'? is, you will cope, especially if you have other pets to look after. Yes you will shed tears but that's only right & proper.

He is so beautiful <3

I know how you feel, I feel the same about Whizz. Whizz is only three but I only have to think of him not being here to make me tear up. Dad's worried about me, told me to not get so attached to him but how can I not!

He's my baby!
(Another thing I'm forbidden to call him when Dad's around!)

Awww he looks like my little Nutty! I don't think I have a favourite as such but Nutty considers me his Mummy and is a little needier than the others. I know my Mum really loves Nibbles. She spoils him so much!

He is a gorgeous and very special boy!

You'll never stop missing some piggies that have wormed their way right into your heart, but there can be other piggies in your life, who will take you on their very own journey and will enrich your life in different ways. There will never be another Humphrey - but there can be other pigsonalities.

Grieving is the other side of love; but without that love our lives would be ever so poor!

I just try to be grateful for having had those special characters in my life, for however long or short. My life has been blessed by their presence.

Awww...Humphrey's gorgeous! And he sounds like such an amazing character!

I know exactly how you feel, though.....I have 9, and they're all wonderful in their own ways, but my heart completely belongs to my boar, Squeaky.

He's such a naughty, cheeky little rascal, has attitude to burn, is into absolutely everything he shouldn't be, and he has a serious problem with being picked up and cuddled.....but he's the only one of my 9 who really seems to enjoys strokes, scratches and attention (in the cage, strictly on his terms) and he's simply 'got me' right there! x) x) x)

I honestly would be heartbroken if I ever lost him, and I know I'll never ever replace him. x

This is a question that's been killing me ever since I got my Ginny (her full name is Virginia Woolf lol) what if some night I'm gonna have to go to sleep without hearing her chewing her hay nearby? It's gonna kill me I know...if I come home and nobody would weeeeek to great me (or usually just asking for food lol) but I try to keep positive as you do, it IS extremely difficult though *sigh*

Oh no :( I'm so sorry to hear this :( R.I.P Humphrey :(
