Bodie and Doyle have only been with me since Sunday. They dont seem close and Doyle really bullies Bodie (the pervious owner warned me of this when i met them)! I can always hear them sqweeking and chasing eachother. The girls dont do this. Doyle is acutally alot smaller (skinny wise not size) and is always rumblerling and chattering at Bodie.
The previous owner has said they have been together all there lives though.
I dont know wether to leave them to it (I'm mean is it normal?) or separate them and have them with netured sows from a rescue?
I'm just asking advice not sayin I'm going to do this i just want all my piggies to be the happiest they can be.

Your opinions would be great.

Obviously the boys are In a new environment and will take time to settle, I would be Inclined to keep them together unless thay have a real blood shedding fight.
Do they have two of everything in the cage ? This helps a lot with boars.

As for finding neutered sows this is no mean feat !
you have to view the neutering In guinea pigs like this Vasectomy Versus Full blown Hysterectomy.

As you have only had them 4 days I would leave them to settle in before making any decisions.
They are probably still abit unsettled.

What size cage do you have them in, maybe they do not have enough room?

i wouldnt separate them yet like everyone else says, it still early days. Give them plenty of room too, they are less likely to fight.

I wouldn't seperate until they have a furball fight. I would keep a water sprayer nearby incase they attempt a fight as one squirt will soon stop them.

As they are new pigs, by seperating them will only stress them and wonder what is going on. Finding neutered sows is difficult. I would let them settle for a couple of weeks and take it from there. :)

Good stuff. thanks guys. There not fighting and coursing injury just playing eachother up i think. I think it maybe becasue of the cage aswel. there in one abit to small for them for a few days while i fix the one that came with them. Hoping things will get better when there in that :)

My two lads have been together for about a year and a half now, and they still have rumbling arguements and "I can raise my head higher than you" arguements all the time. One lad is particularly dominating, (for example we were at the vets yesterday, and in an attempt to hide he shoved Squeaky out of the way so hard that Squeaky was actually flung on his back!) but it just seems to be "how they are" they have two foodbowls, and are quite happy sharing everything else.

Unless Doyle is actually stopping Brodie eating and drinking, and like others have said, a full blown fight breaks out, I would leave them to it. If they've been all that way all their lives...well, I think some Boars just like to bicker!

Laurent and Gregory rumble each other and its usually little Gegory that starts it! But when i have Laurent in my arms and he starts squeeking Gregory replys! they both get upset! But they have their big indoor cage and another slightly smaller cage which i call the play room! and they had two bowls for a while until they settled.
Good Luck x
