Yesterday I visited my local pet shop to buy sawdust and, as usual, I had to haveba quick look at the piggies.

There were two 6 week old piggys (not sure on sex) together and I was so sad to see that one of them had numerous cuts and scabs which I can only assume were from the other piggy attacking it :(

I was going to say something to a member of staff but know from experience that that never solves anything. If I could afford it I would have bought the piggy just to get it out of there but it was £18.99 and I dont have that much spare :(

I cant stop thinking about it :( What would you do?

You can try two options:
1. Speak to the shop owner in a friendly manner. Perhaps you can print off some information about behaviour and when to separate fighting piggies. It is possible that the cuts were new and that the owner hadn't yet noticed. They may be grateful for your advice.
2. Contact your local council, who can arrange an inspection. They have a duty to ensure that animals are well looked after.

i have had a go at a member of staff in a pet shop, because of the way he treated a sick piggie, now named tazzles and happy at home with myself, i am friends with the assistant manager, and i told her what happened the guy has been extra nice now, i rescued from another petshop a 6 week old piggie, who was getting his head jumped on by a rabbit, i warned them to separate the rabbits and piggies or i would report them, it worked, they now keep them separate.

these are some of the things i did, but mostly tell the staff, if they are busy they will not notice, or if they just do not care will not notice.

or go straight to the council as pet shop need a licence the council, have the right to take that licence of them if they see any wrong doing, or they will ask them to improve by a certain time.

I know it's horrible to see and hard to walk away but sometimes all you can do is report then or try top educate them. You can't take them all and they would just replace anyway.I would have a houseful if I could but not practical.

Yes I'm a sucker for pets at home "rescues". I know most of the time they are old ones they cant shift but if there is a single one they tell people they need it be kept alone and I dont like to walk away from a piggie who will have a lonely life.

Ive had to limit my visits to only necessary trips like when I need something in an emergency like pro c

I'm trying to wean my gang off p@h nuggets too so I really dont have to go very often
