Mine have sliced kale or greens, cucumber and tomato. Sometimes baby sweetcorn, strawberries and dandelion leaves. Daisy loves cucumber and always eats that first.
Bertie has small amounts of lots of different stuff. If I give him lots of one thing he loves he leaves the rest. So he has had, spring greens, carrot, apple, celery, parsley and cucumber. The 2 little girly piggies next door eat absolutely any veg you offer! They are so good!xoxo
"Sorry, Bertie. What did you say?" "I dont think so, Mister, you are definitely not going round there to see how they are!rolleyes Naughty boy!"
this morning mine had romaine lettuce, carrot and cucumber. Tonight it was apple (treat), green pepper and spring greens....with a few sprigs of parsley as handfed treats
My wee'uns have ...
Lettuce, carrot, green beans, celery, cucumber and lots of pepper.
Chopped up in little cubes put in the bowl in that order every day. (a little bit OCD? haha)
There's the occasional pea pod / cabbage / spinach leaf / broccoli / cauliflower leaves / apple / sweetcorn / beetroot addition too depending on what I get in!
Today, mine have had parsley, Romaine lettuce, kale, spring greens (all in small and strictly weighed-out quantities), celery, red & green peppers, cucumber, fennel, honeydew melon, green beans, beetroot.....it was like a rainbow in the food bowl !
Ours get a piece of cucumber while we have a morning cuppa then breakfast of celery, tomato (single one between 4), cucumber and romaine lettuce. Then added on an ad hoc basis is carrot, broccoli, spinach, red pepper, coriander and parsley.
Marmite will have a baby tomato, cucumber, yellow pepper and then a carrot, and then every now and then beetroot and if theres any leftover, then he'll have a cauliflower leaf or two.
Bentley and Chester have, Celery, Romaine Lettuce, Cucumber, Yellow Pepper, the odd Carrot and some Broccoli after roast on a Sunday.
My two had a salad mix with beetroot and some red pepper for breakfast and as its sunday they will get carrot sticks broccolli and parsley for dinner i hope I'm not feeding them too much
Interested to see that many of you give lettuce. I haven't done this as I was warned off by a couple of the books that I have! It's been useful to see the variety that you give, and I'm going to try Daisy and Poppy with peppers and tomatoes. I did try a variety of things when I got them, but they only seemed interested in the usuals, carrots, greens, celery and cucumber and of course dandelion leaves that they do tug of war with!
I don't give them this very often, say once in a blue moon, rather give them spring cabbage or spinach instead, or when a piggy is off their food, then i'll let them have it to encourage them to eat, but only then
I've just tried offering some red pepper. Each seized a piece, took it away, dropped it, peered at it at then looked at me as though I had deeply insulted them :red I have left a piece in their dish, together with a piece of tomato, so we'll see what happens!
Bertie doesnt like peppers! He runs to the other end of his cage. A vet once told me to give them lettuce when they are off their food as most of them will eat that, just to get them to eat something! I just went to asda and waitrose thinking there will be lots of reduced veggies and there wasnt any!:0
Today mine had :
.Carrot
.Cuecumber
.Baby corn
Just been tesco before it shut and grabbed some peppers, apples and kale all reduced. so thye can have that tomorrow |)
tonight mibe have just been given, cherry tomatoes, red pepper, yellow pepper and green pepper, some broccoli and cucumber, they are skipping around right now whistling!x)
