Hi

Collecting my alpaca sow tomorrow and was wondering what is the best brush to use on their coats?

I have a little slicker brush which I had for Faith who was a Shelti cross - would this be ok or abit harsh on a curlier coat?

Coming from a Dog Groomer and a former Texel owner which its the same coat but grows backwards rather that forwards, I would recommend a comb and a soft slicker brush.

Use the slicker brush gently over the coat and then use the come to go through the coat and tease any little knots out, if there are any large knots, usually around the rump/anus are I would recommend cutting them out as teasing the knots can be quiet painful.

This set looks good...

BUT I would recommend a wider toothed comb like this for dogs...

or one with a wooden handle.

Thanks for the great advice on the grooming - will go and get a double sided comb for her - that link is very interesting starrlgate - thanks for finding it :(|)

Have been in contact with Chrissie at Gorgeous Guineas and she recommended Posh n' Go - so have ordered that for her as well as other stuff for my other three - my order came to £18.00 - oops lol
