hello, i hope you can help.

i have 7 guinea pigs they are all indoors at the moment due to the weather, in one large cage i have three together (they get on), but one of the three has a bit of a bald patch and a scab on his face, i also noticed a sore on his back. i got insecticidal shampoo and anti parasite spot on from pets at home and treated him but it doesn't seemed to of worked and he is getting worse, but the other two who share a hutch with him have no such problem.

please help what is wrong with bandit? :(

Best take your piggy to the vets and get a proper diagnosis on whether you are dealing with mites or fungus.

For mites you need to treat all your piggies in contact with ivermectin or version of it, like xeno450.

Does he get on well with the other guineas in the cage? How large is the cage?

It's possible that the change in scene has caused an upset between them, and the scab on his face/bald patch on his back could be down to one of the other pigs.

If it's unlikely to be that, it could be either mites or fungal. It is possible to treat for both at the same time if you are unsure.
