Hello.
Wondering if anyone can help me. One of my pigs Chocco seems to be a little off, but i have no idea what could be worng with him.
Hes normally a very layed back pig spending most of his time in bed or next to the food bowl. However recently he has had bouts where he has been highly excitable trying to pull the cage apart to get to Marvin (who was not impressed and continued on with his own business). At other times he just sits in a corner of the cage doing nothing but seems a little boated.
Ive looked for any skin conditions cant find any he is still eating and drinking and poos seem normal.
I have no idea what could be wrong...anyone have any ideas?

Sorry if this is common knowledge and I'm asking daft questions here lol but:
Is Marvin another male guinea that chocco can see but isn't actually in the same cage with?
How old is Chocco?
Does Chocco have a cage buddy?
If not, maybe he's getting upset being able to see but not interact with the other guinea?

x

Chocco is about 9months old. He had to be seperated from marvin about a month ago as Marvin bit a chunk out of his upper lip both are male and un-nutered never had female contact or smells. They get lots of interaction through their bars as they have a C&C cage right next to each other. They have a big run that they go in every day and as they are in my study they have almost constant human interaction as my OH is always in the room.

He can still be hit by some testosterone, but can't get at his friend for humping!

Sometimes, a soft toy can help for the company. Or try to divert them by putting hay or grass in a toilet roll (which you can hang up or leave on the ground).

tried a soft toy...was left all alone in the corner :( and have toilet roll with hay, ready grass and treats stuffed inside when ever i finish off a toilet roll. They have apple branches every week and love chewing the bark off them aswell. OH wont let me get anymore piggies or would have got them nutered and have gf's when i had to seperate.
