Came to visit my mom and took my Guinea pig out and found this on his backside, right above his butt, where a tail would usually be. Can anyone tell me what this might be? Is it a tumor? Don't have money at the moment to take him to a vet. Is there anything else I could do?

It looks like an abcess which will need veterinary attention for antibiotics and possible draining/flushing out. Is there anyway at all you can get him to a vet?

There is a recommended vet locator on the forum that will help you find a piggy savy vet in your area. If you could update your location on your profile too, we might be able to provide advice on any help you could recieve i.e charity run vets in your area x

Please have him seen by a vet as soon as you can. It looks like his grease gland is very infected. He urgently needs an antibiotic and medical care.

Thank you everyone for your answers and help. Just got back from the vet with him. His grease gland is infected and enlarged. The vet cleared out the area and gave us pain medicine, something to flush it twice and day, and antibiotics to give him. Everything else seemed fine though and the vet said otherwise he was healthy. He has a follow up next Friday to check how he's healing. Thank you everyone again for the concern and the help!
