What’s Wrong With My Piggie

I just lost my sweet Melvin 4 days ago, and I let my Harvey say his goodbyes. Harvey has been seemingly fine, even opening up more and actually taking lettuce out of my hands! Harv is a very shy piggie so this is great. He’s been eating perfectly fine imo, his waste looks fine and nothing worrying about the pee, but I just checked him out and I don’t know if this is a wrong reading or weighing but he’s down 134g in THREE days? And I noticed a tiny bit of eye crusties 2 days ago, and today more. It’s white but there’s more around his eye, and noticed some ear wax. Could this be out of depression or is what’s happened to my Melly happening to Harv? I’m so helpless right now... I was just going to get a piggie but now don’t think I should bring a piggie into this home with Harv. I’m so lost and new to all of this, why is this happening!? I even fixed his entire cage so there would be 10x more airation so no dust. Why do my piggies keep getting sick!?
 
I’m at a loss and fearing he has a URI, all the money I’ve saved to get another piggie is going to have to go to vet bills again, will he be okay for a while longer without a piggie buddy? I’m so stressed...

It’s possible he’s pining for his friend.That is a big weight loss in 3 days, I would recommend a vet check just to check Theres no underlying cause for the weight loss.In the meantime you should start syringe feeding.
 
Hi, I'm so sorry you lost your piggy. I'm not an expert on health, however that is a lot of weight to lose. I would get a vet to check him out as soon as possible. @Wiebke is the best to give further advice in this situation.
 
I’ll call today and fingers crossed he can get in. I just don’t understand because he’s eating REALLY well on his own :(. How about his eyes? Is the white goop normal? What about the slight crusties around? Could that be from rubbing his eyes?
 
Currently Harv is munching away really well on some hay and porcorning around his cage. I’m so confused!
 
Do you guys think he’s depressed? Maybe I weighed wrong? I did have to move the scale... I’ll weigh him again today...
