What’s wrong with our new baby?

We got 2 guinea pigs from the pet shop a week ago. Today I noticed this around the eye of one of them . However , looking at photos from 2 days ago , it seems it was there then but we hadn’t noticed it . For experienced owners , what do you think this is ?

It could be a fungal infection or ringworm but only a vet can diagnose and treat, please see a vet.

Pat particular attention to the hygiene as if it’s ringworm then it’s very contagious.

Sorry - looks like ringworm. I'm afraid you have a lot of cleaning in your future if so...

I fostered piggies who were fine one day and next this huge scab came off of his face and woala! Ringworm. His sister got it 10 days later... Vets can easily diagnose, but I would avoid home treatments until he gets seen by a vet. If you use antifungal and then vet does test you can cause issues with result accuracy.
