Whats wrong with Teddys willy?

My boar Teddy has a poorly 'area' Its hard to describe but his willy isnt 'inside' as it should be and also has a hard dark red crusty bit on the end as if its bled and then dried up.
I've taken a picture to see if anyone could try and see what was wrong :{

I would be inclined not to poke or pull it around too much myself. I dont want to give you the wrong advice and make it worse. If it didnt have the dried blood bit on the end, then I would try to gently coax it back inside, but if it looks sore then a vet trip is needed.

I asked about the cleaning, as sometimes boars can get bedding and hay trapped/stuck around their willy and this stops it from retracting properly. I used to check Rods once a week to make sure he didnt have anything stuck there.
 
it looks a bit like my peppers willy was, his was like a prolapse, one day it was fine, then the next it was sticking out and it stayed like that for the rest of his life.

I just had to clean the debris from it.

I dont remember any blood though.

Hope he is ok xx

ps/ the vet told me its not actually his willy, just the bits round it

Looks like a prolapse, but doesn't look like the actual penis is exposed, just the sheath althiugh i cant see it too well on my phone. Best bet would be keep him clean (can you bed him on fleece so bits don't get stuck to it?) and keep it moist until you can see a vet. Do you have any KY jelly or could you get some? Another similar WATER BASED lubricant would work, but non perfumed only. Don't use any thing oily like Vaseline or anything.

It might retract on it's own or it might need a helping hand. I dunno if it is in real life but it looks sore, and he may need some antibiotics

This looks similaR to what is often called a "cauliflower" or "frilly" willy where the foreskin is very folded/frilly and the penis sometimes protrudes. It needs checking by a vet first(to rule out infection/other issue) as it looks like his is very dry and swollen (and painful which might stop him eating his nOrmal quota of food) and I'm slightly concerned about the amount of visible frills underneath his penis.

If that is what it is, lots of boars have this condition - you would need to be extra careful with regular cleaning and inspection as in additon to the accumulaton of normal "debris" from normal boar scenting activities sometimes urine can collect in the foreskin(which could in itself indicate a bladder problem)

For "maintenance" I use sudocream for my boys willies if it looks like the foreskin or shaft is getting sore and helps provide a barrier against the constant friction that occurs from boys rubbing their bums on the ground

Best however he gets a proper inspection by the vet first...and might be an idea to monitor his weight to check he is eating enough.

Thanks everyone, I have bathed it and the bloody bit has come off but we are going to the vets in the morning with him to have it checked. He is fine in himself and is eating and drinking normally :)
I will update you all after the vets :)

Update:

Last night and just before we went to the vets I bathed it in warm water, when we got to the vets it had gone back in and looked completely normal! :{
The vet checked it and numbed the area to check it thoroughly and decided he'd got the spikey bit on the end caught on something (don't know what!) she gave him a metacam injection. He's looking better and I've bedded him on care fresh instead of shavings :)

:)) typical! We always have animals in work that miraculously recover! I once took my old rabbit to the vet as she had hind limb paralysis - she wasn't using her back legs at all, I was having to clean her and feed her and stuff...

Took her to the vets, got her out of her carrier, and off she hopped rolleyes

Glad he's ok :))
