I have 6 guineas and they have a hay based food with pellets in it too, it's a complete mix and mine eat 2kg of that a day lol! and don't get me started on my rabbits, they all eat me out of house of home, without treats, just food for my animals (rabbits, guineas and hammies) for a WEEK it costs me £50! I don't know how you nice rescuing guys do it!

Well you all know that i only have one piggie and i spend at least $20-25 per week on veggies etc.. as he gets fresh no matter what at least 3 times a day, spoilt i know but when you've had a sick piggie you'll do ANYTHING to encourage them to eat. Hey gets a bag of pellets every second month even if he doesn't finish the last bag so i know that it's fresh, and of course there's a bag of hay every second week. Also with his tooth trimming around about every 4 weeks and that is just under $100 each time.

LOL love the idea of the mansion, but if we have Shaz and Michelle we'll need more like Buck Palace, what do you think, reckon the royals will hand it over :D

I'm obviously a tight git ;D I buy a bale of hay every month or so, cost £3 and a bag of Wagg pellets from Asda every couple of weeks cost £4. Then a bale of shavings cost £7 this lasts at least two months. The biggest cost is the veggies, but that's in with my shopping so I don't really notice that. That feeds six pigs. There is absolutely no need to spend £40 unless you have it spare but afraid I don't, I need to spend on food and medicine for the family so they get treats when I have some spare cash. A treat for my piggies is extra carrot, or herbs and they love it :)

;D ;D  Kathryn

I spend approx £8 a month on meadow hay, £12.00 on RR bedding & £10 on food, this feeds 9 piggies then i spend between £8-£10 per week on veggies :)

I only have one piggie too so i spend a small amount on fresh fruit and veg, the big bag of sawdust lasts ages and the nuggets last a while too. I also have ten rats so i kind of get carried away when i go to pets at home! :)

no one really wants to know what i spend a week or month for that matter ! ^-^ ^-^ but i do buy in bulk & from various places, i use 3 pet shops n they all give me freebies ;D ;D at the end of the day if its youre money spend it how you want , if you have 60 pound a week to spend & you choose to spend it on them then its up to you , I'm lucky my OH moneys pays all our living exp easily , my money is purely for the animals & stuff like cd's , dvd's etc, i work coz i want to , not beacuse i have to ... but you still dont want to know what i spend ;D

I'm intrigued to know how much you spend. I thought what i bough was alot, also buy in bulk from different places, so if i spend alot i really would like to know how much you spend. You've got me curious now ;D

I spend quite a lot, my mum agrees i spend too much on my guinea pigs, but they are my hobby and my passion just like she spends loads of money on crafty things, i spend it on my piggies, ive got 7 piggies i buy food in bulk now cheaper so i get 5 x 2kg bags of food, 1 2kg bag will last me about 2 weeks ish, and that £4.29 a bag.

i get 3 huge bags of hay every 2-3 weeks from a farm shop which cost 1.75 each

shavings i get in bulk too and its £5 for a bale which lasts me 2-3 cleans of the girls huge cage, my boys have towels/fleece method so i dont buy any bedding for them except when i bought all the towels/sheets.

i spend around £9-12 on veggies a week, and i sometimes have to top up their veggies during the week if they run out of something

they have numerous toys and I'm always buying them new ones, and treats i buy grass seeds etc too so i can grow them grass, so i do spend quite a lot on them.

I buy a big bag of hay every 2 weeks and that cost me £1.50 from the local pet shop. My boys have a bag of nuggets from PAH and that lasts them a couple of weeks, i spend about £8 a wheek on veggies as i get big bags from the local market.

The only thing that is expensive is the carefresh and thats £2.99 a bag. My vets now sell it so its going to be cheaper than buying it from PAH. The boys do go through a lot though as they have a large nero cage each lol.

every one and a half months i get a bag of Guinea pig gold: £12
Hay: not yet bought cos ma dad got some hay off a frend for free
Every two months two bags of about 30kg: £6

Weekly:
2 bags of celery for about £1.50
1 bag of Greens: £1

+ any other expenses

This is for 10 guinea pigs but 5 are not yet fully grown and the others are fully grown.

Estimated £268 a year. 0:)
