I am going shopping for my piggys tomorrow and would love advise on what i should pick up.
What is your piggys favorite food?

My Finn grew up eating cilantro, parsley, kale, carrot, and basil since he was a baby, so those are his favorites. He will finish those before going for lettuce.

Lara grew up under a care of a friend who never knew guinea pigs eat veggies. When I was appointed as Lara's pet parent, Lara had hard time getting used to eating veggies. But now, after being fed the same food Finn is eating, she can basically eat anything without being picky like Finn is. Lara likes to eat everything.

All my piggies love capsicum especially yellow.
Biscuit goes crazy for watermelon.
Flower flips for parsley.
Mumma loves cucumber.
They enjoyed a rare treat of apple today & are all yelling at me for more.

They all have their different fav's but expect capsicum daily.

Mine love watermelon and other fruits as treats, which they get a couple of times a week. Their treats include blueberry, apple, watermelon, melon, grape, and other fruits.

What type of melon do they eat? I tried rock melon but they thought I'd given them poison 😂😂

I give small amount of honeydew melon during summer time. I throw away the skin so my piggies eat what I would eat. I give very little due to high sugar contents in fruits.

Great thanks will try honeydew next time!

You should only give fruit rarely as a treat. Mine absolutely adore melon skin. They have this treat very rarely. Megs favourite food is aubergine (egg plant) and she will pick this out first. Dennis's is tomato, Velvet's is lettuce (not iceberg), carrot or spring greens. Betsy loves her cucumber and Christian isn't that fussed as long as dindins (veg) arrives every evening!

i haven't tried tomatoes yet just because i read the leaf part can be toxic so it makes me nervous. but i see alot of people on here gives it to their piggy so i may try it. :) I've been pretty paranoid about what i give them due to the iceberg mistake. (Thats why i am getting advice on what everybody else feeds their piggys lol)

Just chop up a couple of cherry tomatoes first. You need to introduce new veg gradually.

ok thank you. i just want them to be as healthy as possible and still enjoy all different kinds of fruits and veggies :) but i will definantly introduce the new foods slowely.

My two both love coriander and lettuce. One of the piggies pretty much eats anything and the other one is a bit fussy
