I live in a flat and sadly the pigs don't get access to a garden so i've started to grow grass for them! It's so easy, you literally only need to water it and it has grown this tall just after 6 days:

I cut some off for the piggies last night and they went wild for it!
Dotties beautiful belly, begging for grass!x)

I've used these, they're good aren't they :) Had some off ebay to try when we first had the piggies.
Bit like a Sunday roast though, takes forever to cook and then it's gone in a flash :))
Aw, Finlay looks so contented with his ladies in the pic x)

So true! It lasted seconds rolleyes:)) ! I think i'll get some more though, it was only £!.50 and it's worth it as a treat! I love Fin's face in the last pic, he's staring right at me :))

aww mine adore grass. I have to go out in the garden in my PJs with a pair of scissors and cut it! I get some dodgy looks but its worth it:))

:)):)):)) i can't imagine what i'd think if i was an overlooking neighbour who didn't know anything about piggies! @):))

My garden is what you'd call "natural" i.e my dad tends to it now and again but it doesn't have a lawn or anything, its a bit of a haven to wildlife. I was out side the other day hunting for some grass and dandelions and realised people had moved in next door...so they've already seen the nutter walking round the garden with a pair of scissors and a bowl.

They eat anything you grow/find for them too quickly! They never seem to appreciate the effort you put into getting it for them rolleyes

My husband was laughing at me this weekend as I was out in the backyard with scissors and a bowl going along the rock wall cutting all the long dark green grass. He's so happy that he doesn't have to take a weed-eater to the wall anymore! I'm sure the neighbours think I'm quite crazy now! Cocoa RUNS from wherever she is to the pile as soon as she smells the fragrance. drool Soon there'll be snow and I won't be able to get grass for them til spring, so I try to get out there as much as I can.

Awww that's brilliant. I must grow some for mine again, last time we gave them some though, Gertie and Johnny polished off the lot in about 2 minutes.

the image of you two on your hands and knees cutting grass with scissors is really making me laugh :))

:)) does it grow back once they've munched on it?

How did you grow it?

I've got a box of grass seeds that I've been meaning to plant (I live in a first floor flat and feel like a criminal sneaking down into the garden of the ground floor flat - I think it's communal but I'm not actually sure! - under cover of darkness to steal grass and dandelions!) but figured I'd need some kind of compost or something?

You can buy them with the seeds ready in the tray and you literally just put some water on it and Tah Dah! You can get them here and help a rescue ;) http://thistlecavies.tripod.com/shop/id2.html

It did for a while but eventually they completely trashed it. I think Gertie may have sat in it though and she was rather large bless her.

:)) aww bless her! I've been cutting mine with scissors!

you could always buy a small bag of compost or potting mix and either a seed tray or propagator to grow your own

ADORABLE PIGGIES ALEART !

you have some goreous piggies, and the pictures are great, hmm, although i have a garden, i'd like the thought of growing something for my piggies, i considered growing veggies but I'm hardly the sort with a green touch so maybe some nice long grass would fill a hole in some hungry bellies over winter !

I have started a hydroponic grass growing experiment, I shall report my findings soon!

Awwwww, gorgeous x) x)
